Original Cast Used “Evening Shade” TV Script
Signed by Hal Holbrook
Note: My camera has problems with photographing light colored pages, the light green pages in this script are clear in person.
Script is in good used shape.
Is show #20 “Mr. Newton Goes to Hot Springs.”
Autograph matches what I see on Google images. (No certificate of authenticity.)
There is writing below Mr. Hobrook’s name, not sure what it says.
(My one guess, the bottom signature was his first signing, then he signed the top to make the “brook” more clear. If you research his autograph, it’s similar to what you see here, but on this top signature he seems to be making it clear who this belongs to—for set purposes.)
(It’s not unusual for cast members to write their names on scripts to keep them from getting mixed up on the set, that’s probably where this signature comes from.)
Has all of Hal Holbrook’s lines highlighted in green, so I think this was his set script. Plus, he highlighted scenes he was in and dog-eared some pages. In one spot he corrected the dialog.
Was bought at a flea market 50 miles from Evening Shade, Arkansas.
Great for autograph and script collectors.
(I put Mark Twain in the description, because Hal Holbrook is best known for that portrayal.)
